We take all reasonable steps to protect your information. References to gta-notary.com in these terms and conditions and privacy policy refer to GTA-Notary, a Sole Proprietorship registered in Ontario.
Securing your personal information is very important to us. This policy/terms and conditions explains what we will do to secure your information and disclose the limitations of doing so.
The use of gta-notary.com services are governed by this Privacy Policy/Terms of Service.
Your Privacy:

Information collected and why we collect it:
gta-notary.com provides notarization and commissioning services to the public and in doing so, we are required to identify our customers. You will be required to provide your first and last name, your telephone number, and email address. We collect this information to ensure we have a way to contact you in the event of a privacy breach or other matter concerning your documents.
This is how it works:
A. We will scan a copy of your government issued photo identification.
B. We will scan a copy of your notarized documents.
C. We will scan a copy of your signed service agreement with us.
This information will be held securely using cloud storage. We will keep your personal information for three years. At the end of three years, We will delete your scanned government ID and notarized documents. We will keep your signed agreement on file for at least 10 years.
WE DO NOT PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES UNDER THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT
We do not provide legal advice, or draft documents on behalf of a customer. Our services are limited to the notarization of documents, administering oaths, affirmations and solemn declarations, certification of true copies of documents and the witnessing of agreements.

Service by written agreement only:
We will ask you to sign a service agreement which will include you authorizing us to collect and keep certain pieces of private and confidential information about you.
Use of Your Information:
You can request a copy of your information we have on file at no extra cost to you while in attendance at our office. Said files will be sent via email which is not secure. You will be asked to provide written acknowledgement that email is not a secure means of communication which may be susceptible to hacking or other interception.
We will not market our services with your information or sell it to third parties. We will email you in the event of a security breach and/or third-party request for your documents.
Disclosure of your Personal Information:
gta-notary.com will disclose your personal information:
A. If required to do so by law
B. When you have consented to the disclosure.
We will only release your information if compelled by law. In the event that a legal request is made, we will inform you as expeditiously as possible by email. You must ensure that you update your information with us if it changes otherwise we may not be able to advise you.
Although we will make every attempt to secure your information, if your information is hacked or stolen in any way from us, damages shall be limited to $100.00 CAD.

Requests for your file:
After your transaction is complete you may contact our office for a copy of your file at a nominal fee.

Our website may contain links to third party websites. We are not responsible for any information provided by those sites.
Our site may have links to documents as samples that can be downloaded. This is provided as a courtesy to you and is not intended to be legal advice or be guaranteed for your specific need.
